Somali Music is incredibly diverse. With Waaberi Radio we curate a selection of songs from many different styles so that it’s not only one narrative of Somali music being portrayed. We hope you will be able to find the type of music that resonates with you the most and experience a lot of nostalgia with our selections.
Waaberi Radio #001
Exploring Kaban music from before the 90s, with our first playlist we wished to showcase Somali music as the form we resonated it to the most with. Compiling some of the songs we grew up with, we wanted this playlist to be a nostalgia ride.
Waaberi Radio #005 - Ciid Edition
For Ciid we didn’t just want to put in songs that talked about the day and its festivities (there are still quite few in there) . We tried to encapsulate the emotions we felt on Ciid into our selections, especially in regards to the genres of music we chose.
